In a Previous Life...“Fresh from university the first time around, I found myself in a sales role. Surrounded by a great group of people in a fairly pressurised environment I worked hard and probably played harder! Health for me was a focus on calories and trying to get to the gym, but in reality my lifestyle was far from healthy. When I started to feel the impact of my unhealthy lifestyle combined with stress on both mind and body I turned to nutrition to help boost my health.”
What Changed... “Like many nutrition professionals it was an interest in my own health and wellbeing that sparked a desire to learn more. With so many conflicting messages in the media and outdated advice still circulating, I wanted to study nutrition with a solid science and evidence base and so I completed my BSc in Nutritional Therapy at the Centre for Nutrition Education and Lifestyle Management.”
“Since I was a child, watching my Mum’s aerobics classes, I have loved exercise. For me the physical and mental benefits have a hugely positive impact on my life, and this is what I want to share with clients. This led me to gain my diploma in personal training with Premier Training International.”
Continued Professional Development is not only a requirement of BANT the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy) and the CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council), but also a key part of the You Nutritional Therapy ethos. Conferences, seminars and courses help to keep me up to date with the latest research and nutritional approaches.
In the Kitchen...
“I am absolutely passionate about food and healthy cooking and my aim is always to provide food plans that are not only tailored for specific health goals but that also taste delicious!
I am always keen to share new recipes with clients and have provided recipes and filmed cooking tutorials with Vicky Pattison (Geordie Shore, I’m a Celebrity, Loose Women) for Mini V Nutrition. Some of my recipes for Mini V Nutrition have also been published in The Sun newspaper. You can also find some of my recipes in Vicky Pattison’s book, The Real Me.”For food and recipe inspiration follow me on Instagram
On the Mats...
I am a keen martial artist, training and competing in Muay thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and so am personally aware of the impact that nutrition can have when it comes to training, weight cutting, performing and recovery. To help bring more physical and mental balance into my life, I started to explore yoga. Finding a love for this led me to grow my understanding, and complete yoga teacher training in Goa India.
